Sinceramente, todo apunta a que tu amigo sabe que el reloj no es original, y por eso te lo ha dejado. Yo se lo diría.

No conozco a gente que pague mucho dinero por un reloj de segunda mano sin saber ni qué modelo es. Tampoco conozco gente que compre un tourbillon de JLC de segunda mano muy barato y no sospeche. Y tampoco es normal dejar unos días a un amigo un reloj de 100.000 euros; no ya por desconfianza, sino sabiendo que cualquier incidente puede ocurrir por pura probabilidad y llevaros a un disgusto.

Insisto, ni tourbillon, ni carrusel. El movimiento no tiene ningún mérito, un volante visto.

Afortunadamente el autor del blog lo identifica como tal a pesar de su incredulidad inicial:

I instantly assumed that he had overpaid for one of those faux tourbillons, i.e the open heart.

He brought it along to meet me so that I could have a look at it. I checked the open window at 6 o’clock and sure enough, the escape wheel and pinion was circling around the balance wheel. I checked the invoice also and sure enough, I saw only three figures in the price, instead of the usual five or six normally associated with a tourbillon.

So this was the real deal. Not an open heart, but a true blue and plainly authentic tourbillon. How was this possible?

Aunque el autor se puede equivocar, seguramente si alguno de los relojeros a los que mostró el reloj le hubiera dicho lo contrario sería algo a mencionar en la review, pero no es el caso:

In fact, I made it a point to bring this watch around during my visits to various high end watch-makers to get their opinion. The general consensus was that it was really quite amazing that a tourbillon could be produced at that price, and some of the possible ways that this was achieved were with the low quality of materials, (the mineral crystal, leather strap, case and lack of finishing were pointed out), as well as the undeniably lower salaries in China versus Switzerland.

The general verdict given was that the movement was strong despite poor performance on the dial up and down positions. On the wrist however, I was told to expect a good timing performance as can be seen in the image of the results above. Not too bad for the little AATOS as pronounced by the tourbillon experts, some of whom have worked on nothing but tourbillons throughout their entire career.

Y es que al fin y al cabo es algo sabido:

Modern manufacturing methods have made it possible to mass produce tourbillon components, but the highest quality tourbillons rely on hand craftsmanship and traditional high watchmaking.

“Making tourbillons once was the royal art of watchmaking, because no series were done and so everything had to be created by hand,” explains Thomas Prescher. “Today we have production methods which allow us to produce spare parts in extreme high precision and acceptable quality. So it is already possible to have extremely cheap tourbillons from the Far East for about $250. So it is again up to the client to decide if he wants a real handmade masterpiece made in a traditional way with perfect finish which should be at least $100,000 or if he decides for a more industrial product from $250 up.”

Que vaina con los chinos en cuanto a las imitaciones, si todo ese esfuerzo lo dedicaran a crear marcas propias, pero parece que es su naturaleza, copiar desde Zapatos, carteras, lentes, relojes, la culpa no es del ciego sino el que le da el garrote decimos aquí en vejezuela, también es digno reconocer que existe un gran mercado de MIOPES MENTALES, que aun sabiendo que es copia, compran , exhiben su adquisición con orgullo.

Hay chinos muy dignos, Fytia o en rangos menores de precio el famoso Seagull 1963. No creo que exista un crono mecánico más económico.

Charlitos, yo no estoy puesto en tourbillones, ojalá. , pero viendo el vídeo se aprecia que todo el conjunto gira, y por tanto sería un carrusel, no un balance visto donde únicamente se vería oscilar el volante, ¿no?
