"I am interested in your Berwick 1707 split toe derby, the description says they are built with Chromexcel leather: does it comes from Horween tannery or elsewhere? It is known that Chromexcel will scratch and scuff easily, does it happens with this model? I have seen the gorgeous photos at their web page where they look shinny and with a very rich color but in some others they are duller, is it a matter of polish?"
Hi, they are simply stunning shoes, and for value for quality ratio, no other shoes can touch these. We are not sure if this is Horween, but I might suggest it will be from a European tannery. This leather is waxy and incredibly tough, once marked and scuffed, they will easily polish out with a good brush. We have shined our product shots to show what is possible, but it is your choice to have them matt waxy or polish them to a shine.
To keep them matt waxy, use Saphir Waxy Leather Cream or Saphir Renovator, to polish to a shine very gently use Saphir Medaille D'or Pate de Lux with a dab of water, slowing and carefully on the tow and heel and the shine should come.
All in all, Berwick 1707 continues to amaze us. Great products, great company to deal with!"
